1Flower Decoration and Vegetable Carving @ Darshan College, Kengeri, Bangalore
Flowers are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty out-values all the utilities of the World. Flowers have the greatest talent in converting an ordinary place into a magical palace. Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature. Vegetables and fruits are not only meant for just maintaining well balanced diet but also to exhibit God’s providential creation. Hence the Darshanites participated creatively by giving shape, shade, shadow, figure and contours to the flowers, fruits and vegetables. The competitors were ably judged by the honorable jury Rev. Sr. Bindu, Superior of Holy Family Convent & Asst. Headmistress of Jnana Bodhini High School, and Prof. Chaya Devi N, Department of Kannada, Adarsha Evening College.

At the threshold of a NEW YEAR, the message is simple…don’t waste the gift of time. Mary didn’t. She took the time to reflect on all that had happened and treasured the lessons she learned from the experience of the birth of her Son. We need to use it wisely. Life is never measured by the number of breaths we take. Rather, life is measured by how we live and act with each breath that we take. A faith that we see in Mary, our Mother, teaches us that time is used best when all that we do is simply a mirror of the presence of God in our hearts.

Let us pray that it will be a year with peace, happiness and abundance of God’s blessings. God bless us throughout the New Year 2017.

Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
